The 3rd London East Asia Film Festival presents TROPICAL FISH by Director Chen Yu-hsun as a part of the strand, Cinematic Journey Through Taiwan. The Director will be in attendance for the Q&A after the screening.

Synopsis

Chih-Chiang is a daydreamer who fantasizes about a girl at the bus stop and living in a mystical underwater world of tropical fish. Meanwhile, he is about to fail the national high school exams, which will mark him as a loser for life in Taiwan’s highly competitive society. However, things begin to look up when he bungles an attempt to rescue a kidnapped younger boy and ends up captured too. But the kidnap spirals out of control and the young captives are whisked out of Taipei to the kidnapper’s flooded family farm in Chiayi, central Taiwan.
