Tübingen, Germany
The European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan (ERCCT), formally established on June 1st, 2008, is jointly financed by the University of Tuebingen (Germany) and the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange (Taiwan). Its major objective is to promote postgraduate social science research on contemporary Taiwan, most notably in the areas of politics and law, economics, society and cross-strait relations.


Vienna, Austria
The Vienna Center for Taiwan Studies was formally established in the Department of East Asian Studies/ Sinology at the University of Vienna in December 2009 with an inauguration lecture by the first Taiwanese guest professor, Professor Li-chung PENG, of National Chengchi University on the concept of Taiwan studies. The Center has since run several bi-lateral Austrian-Taiwanese conferences at the Department of East Asian Studies. The Center also organized Vienna participation in the alternate Taiwanese conferences of 2010 and 2012. The Center regularly stages Taiwan film presentations and hosts guest researchers from Taiwan.



Trier, Germany
TAP is an interdisciplinary and supra-regional postdoctoral joint project for the promotion, structural strengthening and networking of Taiwan research in Sinology. The research focuses on Taiwan’s role as an innovator in the dynamics of global mega trends.
